The tragedy is that now, the enemy is from within. Experiments with medical tourism are underway by hospitals in Toronto that are soliciting pay-for-treatment patients from abroad. These experiments are eroding the quality and accessibility of health services for all Ontarians.” There has always been a strong health lobby in Canada that opposes both inbound and outbound medical tourism, but this is the first time that an entire professional body has asked for a complete and immediate ban.
